Our Team

Cornerstones of Maine is the result of a labour of love for our two founders, Josh and Jake. It is independently owned by them and was established on the foundation of their desire to create a young adult transition program that is based on mental health research and experience. Not only are they the founders, they are also part of our core clinical staff.

Life Skills Team

Alexandra (Al) Hudson

Life Skills Supervisor

Al is both a Certified Personal Coach and a CCAR Recovery Coach. She has spent the last 6 years working with young adults who are struggling with substance use and the demands of independent living. She is particularly passionate about working with the young adult population and helping them find direction and purpose in life. She believes that by identifying the strengths within the struggles of each resident, they will be able to overcome obstacles and reach their potential. In her free time, Al loves spending time kayaking, playing disc golf, and watching football. She lives in Saco with her husband and two cats.

Laura Savard

Kennebunkport Life Skills Coach

Laura's career has focused on working with schools and the artistic community to build teaching programs, most recently as Director at a local community art center. Laura brought her experience teaching and engaging young people to Cornerstones in our life skills department, where she seeks to engage young people to build real-world skills informed by executive functioning research. When not helping our residents to organize, motivate, and act effectively, Laura is working on her art in her private studio. Laura continues to strive to inspire and connect people through art and her practice of Native American traditions. Laura is a proud mother of two and a resident of Maine for over 20 years.

Kelly Weisslender

Portland Life Skills Coach

Kelly earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine in International Affairs. For the past decade, she has held various roles supporting children, teens, and young adults in education, mental health, and cultural exchange settings. She loves to learn and challenge herself by exploring new places or trying new things. She is proud to call the State of Maine her home and can often be found spending time with her large extended family, hiking local trails with her dog and husband, or eating at one of the many great restaurants in the area.
